LEED 2012 is Coming!

Lend your voice to the discussion. Voting for the next round of rating systems begins in June and there are some significant changes being proposed.

This timely First Monday Speaker Series event will inform your vote on the proposed LEED 2012 Rating System revisions. The focus of the conversation will be on the BD&C rating system, but will explore the other rating systems as well.

 
Learning Objectives 

1: Identify the proposed 2012 revisions and get ready for voting in June.

2: Analyze how the 2012 rating systems reflect the big picture trends and direction within the industry at large.

3. Understand the applicability of LEED 2012 to the various project types in the market.

Speakers:

Dan LeBlanc – Senior Sustainability Manager, LEED-AP BD+C
Dan is a project manager focusing on building energy use efficiency and is also the USGBC Colorado Green Schools Committee Education Chair. He has experience with energy and daylight modeling and a skilled facilitator in bringing about cost-effective and innovative solutions. Dan also has extensive LEED coordination and project management experience for nearly all of the LEED rating systems.

Dan has authored a number of publications and presentations. Dan is an experienced presenter including to a diverse range of audiences on green building related topics, with a specific focus on energy optimization from design through operation. He is the primary author of many of the Energy and Atmosphere credits for LEEDUser.com. His is well versed in the construction process, having managed several successful projects as a general contractor. As a volunteer, Dan advises the construction committee of his local Habitat for Humanity Chapter on energy efficiency and green building.


Narada Golden – Director, Design and Construction Team Lead, LEED-AP BD+C
Narada is the Director and the Design and Construction Team lead at YR&G with over 12 years of experience in architectural design, construction administration, advanced performance analysis, LEED project management and leadership in the field of green building. He has worked on a wide range of project including commercial, educational, cultural, lab, manufacturing, master plan and mixed-use residential.

Narada speaks on sustainability, integrated design, and LEED project management and has led green building and LEED trainings for corporate, government, and educational clients. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon and studied architecture at the University of Copenhagen.


Narada is an Ambassador for the Cascadia Region Green Building Council. He represents the Northwest Earth Institute as a member of the Rocky Mountain Earth Institute steering committee and has started over 100 courses on personal sustainability in Portland and Denver. Narada is also trained in the Natural Step and has organized and led Natural Step trainings.
