Re•pur•posed Ma•te•ri•als
This fun and engaging presentation will cause you to look at byproducts and waste through a different lens. Many materials can be diverted from the landfill and solve real problems and provide a means of artistic expression with a little ingenuity. This ingenuity is called “repurposing”.
This presentation is focused on the creative re-use side of the famous three-sided reduce, re-use, recycle arrowed triangle.

Damon Carson
Damon Carson is the owner of repurposedMATERIALS, a Colorado company dedicated to providing both economic and environmental solutions through the creative act of repurposing. While traditional recycling involves re-manufacturing processes, mass participation, and a lot of energy, repurposing gives used products a new life without having to change them at all. Damon and his team find materials that can no longer be used in their original industry and make them available for consumers to resourcefully re-use in a different application. This unique concept not only adds life to the materials by keeping them out of the waste stream, but it also provides our customers with sustainable products that do the job at the fraction of the cost.
Debbie Hindman
Debbie Hindman is the Marketing Manager of Associates III Interior Design, is co-author of Sustainable Residential Interiors (Wiley& Son). Founding members of USGBC’s Colorado Chapter, Debbie and Associates III have won multiple design awards, including 3-time winners of Best Sustainable Residence from ASID’s Colorado Chapter, and SMPS’s Leonardo Award for her achievements in marketing in the AEC industry.
